The background

Implementation of biofuel directives means that the use of normal commercial fuel on board represents a danger to life and limb. Given that the EU has placed limits on the values for particle emission, the mineral oil concerns are mixing an ever-increasing amount of biofuel into classic fuels such as diesel and petrol. This can on occasion have dramatic consequences:

The following film shows how FLAMEARRESTER works under laboratory conditions. To carry out this trial, normal commercially available diesel, a standardised tank ventilation pipe coupled to a tank and FLAMEARRESTER were set up.
